CURRENT CLIENTS: Important Update: Potential Changes to Telehealth Benefits
Did you know that 30 to 70% of children with ADHD will continue to struggle with symptoms in adulthood and that about 4.5% of adults age 18-44 are affected by ADHD?
Many people have symptoms of ADHD but were never diagnosed with ADHD during childhood. In adulthood, ADHD is often associated with work or academic performance problems, family and relationship struggles, and mental and physical health issues. And it can be just plain frustrating.
ADHD in adults and children can be treated with and without medication. However, the first step to getting the right ADHD Treatment is to obtain an accurate diagnosis.
At CPA, our approach to diagnosing ADHD in adults and children includes obtaining a detailed history and conducting a comprehensive neuropsychological testing and evaluation. Neuropsychological evaluation for ADHD measures attention and other cognitive functions that can be negatively impacted by ADHD. The evaluation is a pencil and paper, question and answer type of evaluation – no needles or wires!
Following completion of testing, your neuropsychologist will meet with you to review your test results, answer questions and review treatment options, strategies, and resources for managing symptoms of ADHD.
If you and your neuropsychologist feel that it would be helpful, you may be referred for ADHD treatment services at CPA. ADHD treatment can include meeting with a psychiatrist to discuss medication options for ADHD or working with with a psychologist who offers ADHD coaching, Cognitive Rehabilitation Therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), or stress management services.
Our ADHD testing and evaluation services are available for clients ages 8 & up.
