Darya Terekhova, MD, PhD

Dr. Terekhova provides psychiatric consultation, medication management and individual and group psychotherapy to adults. She practices in a collaborative, compassionate and nonjudgmental way that is rooted in evidence-based medicine and fundamental understanding of the role of biological, psychological and social factors in patient’s distress. Dr. Terekhova sees patients with different kinds of problems including anxiety, depression and bipolar disorders, OCD, ADHD and psychological trauma. She has a comprehensive approach to patient’s issues and likes to include elements of psychoanalytic psychotherapy, CBT, DBT, ACT or mindfulness-based psychotherapies, as appropriate, even in her brief medication management appointments.

Dr. Terekhova’s special interests include perinatal/reproductive psychiatry and women’s mental health, in which she received in depth training during her senior year of residency at BIDMC, and LGBTQ+ mental health, in which she had a year-long clinical experience at Fenway Health.
