Marquise Laforest, LCSW

Marquise uses a holistic and humanistic perspective with everyone that sits across from her to understand the various aspects of one’s identity that make them unique. Young adults, women of color, and caregivers with a sense of humor benefit from counseling with Marquise. She supports her clients on their journey of diving deeper within to discover new ways to navigate through life challenges.

Marquise provides individual, couples & family therapy using CBT, DBT, Gottman Method, Narrative therapy, acceptance & commitment therapy, and motivational (MI) techniques. Her empathic approach considers the impact of culture, identity, and past experiences with a trauma-informed lens.

Marquise will work with you in planting the seeds necessary to improve behaviors and work through symptoms of anxiety, depression, anger, and trauma. Together you will work collaboratively to clarify the meaning behind internalized beliefs, thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to enhance your sense of self-awareness and ability to cope with stress.

Marquise Laforest, LCSW received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, followed by a master’s degree in Social Work from Walden University. Marquise continues to actively work towards independent licensure.
