Dr. Shang is a licensed psychologist who provides individual therapy for adults. He practices from a psychodynamic and interpersonal/relational lens while incorporating elements of cognitive behavioral therapy.
Dr. Shang’s background includes experience working with children and adolescents, families, and adults from a variety of racial, cultural, sexual, and socioeconomic backgrounds. He acknowledges each client’s unique set of values while fostering a safe and trusting environment that encourages the client to comfortably engage in self-exploration and be genuinely understood. Dr. Shang emphasizes a therapeutic alliance in which he and his clients work collaboratively to deepen one’s insight by identifying and then examining the factors that are impacting one’s current well-being. He is dedicated to helping clients untangle the complexities in their lives and derive new meaning that better empowers them to experience a more satisfying, enriching, and fulfilling lifestyle.

Dr. Shang completed his doctoral work at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology – Chicago Campus and completed his pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral residency at Nova Southeastern University’s Psychology Services Center. Dr. Shang provides psychotherapy and counseling services in our North Station office.
