Dr. Small is a licensed psychologist providing therapy and counseling services to adolescents, emerging adults, and adults. He is an enthusiastic and warm therapist who is eager to help clients meet their personal goals.
Dr. Small takes a developmental perspective to his primarily cognitive-behavioral and interpersonal therapy interventions. Working in collaboration with clients, Dr. Small emphasizes the client’s strengths in helping to build resilience. He seeks to build and maintain close working relationships with clients to foster a sense of safety, warmth, and creativity in the therapeutic environment. His areas of interest include developmental/life transitions, mood disorders, anxiety, identity and sexual identity issues, relationship concerns, and grief.
Dr. Small earned his doctorate degree from Arizona State University. He previously earned his master’s degree from Teachers College Columbia University. Dr. Small completed an APA-accredited internship at the University of New Hampshire’s Psychological and Counseling Services before remaining on staff to complete the postdoctoral program at UNH as well.
