Samantha is a mental health counselor in LifeStance Health’s training program and a strong advocate for her clients. She helps them work toward self-actualization by honing in on their strengths and finding ways to continuously work on self-development. She encourages clients to have an active role in directing their own narrative. Samantha prioritizes fostering the therapeutic relationship through open dialogue and active and empathic listening. In her work with clients, she likes to draw from psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, relational-cultural, and narrative therapy approaches, as well as incorporate mindfulness practices. She most enjoys working with young adults, couples, and families. She is fluent in Spanish and has a Cantonese background.

Samantha earned her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling at Suffolk University in Boston, after graduating from UMass Amherst with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, and Education. During her master’s program, she completed her internship at Newton North High School as a School Adjustment Counselor and was a graduate fellow at the Suffolk University Counseling, Health, & Wellness Center. Samantha sees clients in our Newton-Watertown office.
