CURRENT CLIENTS: Important Update: Potential Changes to Telehealth Benefits

Shreya Raj, M.D.

Neuropsychiatrist   |   Newton-Wellesley, MA

Dr. Raj is Board Certified in Adult Psychiatry and completed a Fellowship in Neuropsychiatry. She has expertise in managing mood symptoms related to neurologic conditions such as dementia, movement disorders, and stroke.

She offers psychiatric diagnostic assessments, psychopharmacologic consultations, medication management, and psychotherapy. She sees patients with a wide array of concerns, including (but not limited to) memory difficulties, attention deficits, depression, and anxiety.

Dr. Raj uses a warm and empathic approach to create collaborative partnerships with her patients so that psychiatric concerns can be addressed from a shared perspective. She places a strong emphasis on psychoeducation, helping patients understand their diagnoses and management options so that they can make informed decisions about their health. She strongly believes that physical and psychological health are inseparable, and that any psychiatric treatment plan must have a holistic approach in order to be successful.

Dr. Raj completed her undergraduate work at Brown University and earned a medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine. She went on to Psychiatry residency at the Harvard Longwood Psychiatry Residency Training Program (HLPRTP) where she served as a Chief Resident in her final year. Following residency, she pursued further subspecialty training through the Brigham & Women’s Hospital Fellowship in Behavioral Neurology/Neuropsychiatry.

She has published several book chapters on psychiatric and neuropsychiatric disorders. She is a co-director of the Harvard Medical School course “Neuropsychiatry: A Comprehensive Update” and continues to serve on the Harvard Medical School faculty, teaching and mentoring in the fellowship program.

Dr. Raj sees patients in the Newton-Wellesley office.
